It was launched with the aim of effectively using the knowledge from Vetmeduni Vienna´s core areas of teaching and research to fulfil its  "Third Mission" – the  translation of innovations to positively impact individuals, communities, institutions, and societies.

Both the transfer of technology as a basis for the implementation of research results in practice, as well as the development of entrepreneurial skills of employees and students of support innovation on a broad basis. The initiative informs, motivates and empowers students, researchers and employees to further develop the practical benefits of their innovative ideas and to work either themselves or together with partners from industry thereby actively supporting and encouraging the translation of knowledge in the service of society.
